Kernkompetenzen InnovationLab – zahnen technik-min

In the InnovationLab, our core competencies in electrical, mechanical and process engineering are brought to life in a practical way. Our trainees use realistic models and stations to practise the manual skills they need. This creates a learning environment that combines technical understanding, precise work and interdisciplinary thinking right from the start.

To combine these individual areas of expertise or core competencies, we build a model of a wastewater treatment plant. In an integrative training concept, technical skills are specifically trained here – always in interaction with process engineering planning, laboratory analysis, digital process control and the implementation of international, water-specific customer requirements.

"Zahnen-specific" skills are trained in the InnovationLab alongside the main qualifications acquired during training and studies. Here, we rely on the practical and experiential relevance of our employees, who work as lecturers in the InnovationLab and pass on their knowledge.

One element of the InnovationLab is our fully equipped water laboratory. Numerous classic wastewater parameters can be reliably analyzed here.

Employees train important water analysis work steps in the laboratory and consolidate their expertise in targeted exercises. At the same time, our research and development department benefits: it can flexibly analyze water samples itself, optimize processes in a targeted manner and put new product ideas into practice more quickly. We can adapt existing products precisely to our customers' requirements before they are installed.

The water challenge – Water is the world's most important resource.

Many wastewater treatment plants are not designed to meet future requirements – or are already reaching the limits of their capacity today.

Sustainable Development Goals

Several of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are directly dedicated to the topic of water – from clean drinking water supplies to the sustainable management of wastewater.

Giving meaning to work

Water creates quality of life. That is our claim and our motivation. Maintaining and continuously improving water quality are therefore responsible tasks that the Zahnen Technik team takes on every day.

National and international interns

A sustainable HR policy makes it necessary to give other interest groups access to our corporate policy.

Schools

Pupils can gain theoretical insights into the topic of water in workshops. School groups can deepen their knowledge of the water cycle learned at school using various models.

International exchange of experience

We train specialists from other countries through international exchanges. This creates local added value – and a network of strong partners for future projects.

Apprentices

Our trainees learn across disciplines and beyond the profession they are training for. In addition to expanding their knowledge, we also focus on the overarching objectives. Our trainees are optimally prepared with the most important basics for operational business on the construction site, in the workshop or in the office.

New employees

Our new employees receive a quick and professional introduction to water issues and our core competencies.

Further training for all employees

All employees deepen and expand their knowledge to the point where they can train as "aquatronics engineers by zahnen". It also offers the opportunity to "think outside the box" and create scope for innovative approaches.
